René Egli Kiteboarding

Since 2001, the René Egli Kite Centre ^{by Meliã}  in the south of Fuerteventura has been situated directly on the extensive Sotavento beach, and was rebuilt in winter 2012 among a magnificent palm grove. Here you´ll find a relaxed atmosphere with a cozy beach bar and all the services you´ll need to guarantee the perfect kiting holiday. The unique combination of climate, water and wind conditions, as well as short flight times, makes Fuerteventura Europe´s year-round water sports paradise. The expansive lagoon right on the Kite Centre´s doorstep offers constant winds and ideal conditions for a lot of freeriding fun and freestyle action– perfect for beginners and professionals alike!

Our kite center is located at the northern end of a 4km long tidal-dependent lagoon. At the foot of 4****+ Meliã Gorriones Hotel´s unique gardens, the centre impresses not only with its high standards and its comprehensive range of services: the excellent wind conditions will again for the 28th consecutive year play host to the World Windsurfing Cup, held since 2001 in conjunction with the Kiteboarding World Cup.

At our centre, you´ll find a collection of the latest equipment that is unique worldwide. In 2013, we have once again stocked up, with 400 kites and 180 kiteboards from top brand CABRINHA. We'll happily reserve a fixboard for the period of your stay, of course, but you can also swap and test any other board (subject to availability). This year, we offer you a private rental option, giving you the option of taking the equipment off to explore the other spots on the island.

Our extensive seminar rooms in the newly built windsurfing centre offer groups and companies ideal incentive opportunities at one of Europe´s most beautiful beaches.

To make your vacation worry-free, we have established a Rescue Service, with lookout towers monitoring the action on the water. Also out of the water, a Team of more than 60 is working hard to ensure you have a perfect holiday– from booking to your departure. Our physiotherapists and massage therapists in the windsurfing centre just 300m away offer professional treatments right on the beach, and specialist water sports photographers are on hand to capture your personal action photos.

In 2013, we will again be holding our René Egli Kite Academy camps, offering small groups and a nice atmosphere– the relaxing way to improve your own skill level.
